We strive to make our outdoor education programs an extention of the classroom. We can tailor our programs to fit the needs of your school group. We invite you to discuss with us specific curriculum areas you wish to cover in order to supplement classroom content areas. This classroom of mountains, desert, forest, and wetlands is for you to use to reinforce the each student's engagement with and understanding of the topics they are learning. Our staff can provide support in choosing the right activities to fit your group's needs.

Leadership Development
In our Outdoor Education Programs, participants learn about the world around them while also learning about their place in the world and in their own communities. Many of our activities encourage participants to practice teamwork and cooperation, challenge themselves physically and mentally and to learn more about themselves while living and working cooperatively in a community environment.
At YMCA Camping Services, we believe leadership development involves more than physical elements and challenges. We provide opportunities for participants to learn to communicate effectively and build the foundations of real cooperation, self-esteem and character.
Our leadership and teambuilding programs use many camp resources to give groups practice in working well together while helping individual participants gain experience in cooperation, leadership, and self-awareness. Individual and team initiatives throughout camp focus the group on achieving shared goals while learning about and exploring the natural world.
