Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteering at the Y is a great way to live our mission while meeting new people and making lasting woman reads to childfriendships. Whether you're helping out as a camp counselor, afterschool tutor, or fitness class leader, your time and skill allow us to serve many more people than we otherwise could.

Program Specialist Aide: Assist Program Specialist (instructor) during homework help, outdoor activities, academic lessons, and other tasks as needed.

Coaches: Coach a small group of students during flag football, basketball, or soccer.

Special Program Volunteers: Do you have a skill like yoga, dance, martial arts, etc. that you would like to share with our students? We would love to have you visit our sites! Please call Sandy Diaz at (626) 214-9716 and let her know!

Camp E.L.K. (Mountain Resident Camp): Please send completed applications to Amanda Medina, Camp Director, at amedina@sgvymca.org or via fax at (760) 249-4492 or you can sent completed applications to James Barrasso – Recruiter jbarrasso@sgvymca.org. All volunteers at summer camp must remain on site for one week.

Camp Directors: We need directors to run a week of summer camp: hiring and supervising counselors, planning activities, etc.

Camp Counselors: We need counselors for our week-long mountain camp sessions. Must work closely with a small group of campers ages 7-14 and help them complete activities, etc. A positive attitude is a must!

All volunteers must be able to pass a fingerprint & background check.
