At the Puente Hills YMCA in Hacienda Heights, we're offering Introduction to Art classes!little girl painting pinecone

Introduction to Art: For Boys & Girls Ages 5-9

Students will be introduced to the principles of color and will learn to draw basic shapes and basic figures using shapes and creative expression.

Time: Fridays, 3:30pm-5:30pm

Location: Puente Hills YMCA

Cost: Members $24/month, Non-Members $30/month

We believe that all children should be given the opportunity to express their creativity and discover their individual artistic talents.

Did your New Year's resolutions include starting some healthier habits? Join us for water aerobics or fitness classes. And we're opening up a new section of Juanita's popular Weight Management class Wednesday mornings!

We're also continuing our swim lesson and Biddy Sports programs for kids as young as 3. It's never too early to learn healthy activities that help build character!

Here's a healthy, fun snack you can serve your family after school or any time!mom, dad, and son holding apples

Apple Cartwheels

24 Servings

Prep time: 20 min. + chilling

Ingredients

1/4 cup peanut butter

1-1/2 teaspoons honey

1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons raisins

4 medium unpeeled Red Delicious apples, cored

Directions

In a small bowl, combine peanut butter and honey; fold in chocolate chips and raisins.

Fill centers of apples with peanut butter mixture; refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Cut into 1/4-in. rings. Yield: about 2 dozen.

Nutrition Facts: 1 apple ring equals 50 calories, 3 g fat (1 g saturated fat), 0 cholesterol, 13 mg sodium, 7 g carbohydrate, 1 g fiber, 1 g protein.
